Making Sushi Roll

If you’re visiting this site is must mean that you love sushi like me and want to learn to make some homemade sushi rolls(Makizushi). In this guide will do a classic sushi roll.  For making a sushi roll we need, sushi rice, nori, bamboo mat and fillings of your choice.

1) Depending on the size of the nori and the fillings you will use, you will have to cut the nori in half or the size you need. In this case I cut the nori in half.

2) Since the sushi rice is sticky, you need to get your hands wet. I took rice vinegar and add water and then used to get my hands wet.

3) Then I took some rice and add it to the middle of the nori and then spread the rice evenly covering most of the nori  except the upper part of the nori. Don’t exceed in the amount of rice or you will not be able to make the roll. In the picture below shows how the nori will look with the rice.

4)Then you add the fillings. In this case I adding some spicy shrimp and avocado. For starters the best option is to add the few fillings possible until you get more practice.

5)Then roll the mat, remember to keep the hands tight until the end of the mat get to the part of the nori that has not rice.

6)Then open the mat and try to cover the roll again and finish the roll.

7) Then take the knife and put some vinegar on it. And start to cut the roll.

And we’re finish. Practice this kind of roll before try other styles of sushi.
